[edit] Unreleased songs
- "Apparition" - The song appeared on several internet websites as the tenth song on the If I Left The Zoo pre-release track listing. However, as the album's release date approached, the track listing was changed, removing "Apparition" as the album's tenth track. It remains unreleased to this day.
- "Blame" - The song was performed in concerts following release of Jars of Clay and mentioned by the band as a song that would appear on their next album (which would be Much Afraid). However, the song did not make the album's final track listing. The song was later attempted in the studio during the recording sessions for If I Left The Zoo and again for The Eleventh Hour, but it still remains unreleased.
- "Bullet" - The song was written during the songwriting process for If I Left The Zoo. It was recorded during the Tweed Horse Sessions, in which the band recorded demos of the songs that would attempt to make the final track listing for the album. However, the song did not make the final cut and has remained unreleased.
- "Drive" - A cover of the The Cars song by the same name. The song was recorded during the sessions for Good Monsters, but did not make the final track listing. However, the song was released on a Netwerk-released promo disc entitled Reel To Reel, Volume 3.4. The band has stated that the cover will be released officially sometime in 2008.
- "My Boy" - This is a song that Steve wrote for his newborn son during the If I Left The Zoo songwriting process. It was recorded during the Tweed Horse Sessions, in which the band recorded demos of the songs that would attempt to make the final track listing for the album. However, the song did not make the final cut and has remained unreleased.
