Janet Maslin

Janet Maslin (b. 1948) is an American journalist. She is best known as a book and film critic for The New York Times.

Maslin graduated from the University of Rochester in 1970, with a B.A. degree and a major in mathematics [1]. She was once married to Jon Landau.

Maslin currently reviews books for The New York Times. Previously, she was the paper's long-time film critic, serving from 1977-1999.[2] She began her career as a rock music critic for The Boston Phoenix and Rolling Stone.[2]
