Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you like the article. I did not Ian M at all but I've read his essays and Revolution In The Head. This, combined with some information from his Guardian obituary, was the source of all the information I contributed to the article. How did your :mother know him?
- He was interested in many sorts of music; my mother met him through discussions online about various classical composers (particularly shostakovich). I exchanged a few short notes with him about the philosophy of perception when I was in college, and regret not having a chance to finish the conversation. He wrote quiet well, and was the sort who might turn out a few pages of well-researched commentary in a letter a day after receiving one. +sj + 23:04, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
