[edit] "Needles..." and "When You Walk..."
The article is misleading. While Jackie's versions of "Needles and Pins" and "When You Walk in the Room" were both hits in the USA, they were not "major." Also, it sounds as if The Searchers' remakes had success only on the UK charts, when, in fact, both went on the become sizable hits in the USA, both outperforming the earlier DeShannon versions.

[edit] Accurate Chart Information
After reading this article, I'm confused by the following contradiction: Under Hit love songs it says, In late 1965, DeShannon recorded Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "What the World Needs Now Is Love" and it provided her first Number 1 hit... However under U.S. Chart Singles as a Recording Artist the article contradicts itself with, "What The World Needs Now Is Love" #7, May 1965 Which is it? A number one hit or a number seven hit? A blatant error (even if the result of simple typo) makes the rest of the article's information suspect. 66.17.118.207 13:16, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

There is also a difficulty with the cited usage of her recording, "What the World Needs Now", as being used in the film, "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice". Following the imbedded link to the movie article, it states that the soundtrack recording of the song was performed by Merrilee Rush.Jkolak (talk) 06:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Image:Jackiedeshannon.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

It would be nice to have a compact list of songs that she wrote, separate from hit singles as a performer. The distinctions are blurred in this article.
"Break-a-way" was a hit for Irma Thomas around 1965...not sure how major or minor. Same song as the one Tracey Ullman had a hit with later on. Sojambi Pinola (talk) 17:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
