From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome! My name is Fareed Riyaz, and this is my little space on Wikipedia.
Wikipedia is my main source for all kinds of information, from the serious to the frivolous. That's why I want to help make it the best site that it can be, not only in terms of content, but also from the standpoint of consistency with the rules of English spelling and grammar.
I'm a medical student, so most of the articles I read and edits I make will be in those sections. As a medical student, I have found that there are a number of medical concepts that are, at first glance, exceedingly complicated. However, once a firm basis for understanding the concept is put into place, many of these concepts are really very simple extensions of those basic concepts. Thus, in terms of actual content, my goal is to help make certain "difficult" concepts in medical science easier to understand. For me, finding the mechanisms and underlying anatomy behind these concepts has usually been the most successful approach, and this is what I hope to contribute to Wikipedia.
While medical school does take up a lot of my time, I do have other interests! As a Muslim, I am especially interested in comparitive religion and international policy. I don't spend a lot of time coding on computers anymore, but when I did, I spent a lot of time with C++ and HTML. I'm a big fan of video games, especially the Final Fantasy series (although, again, I don't really play much anymore).
All in all, I hope the Wikipedia community appreciates the edits I make!
