Talk:Ivanhoe (opera)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1910 revival - Beecham conducted 10 performances of the 31 given in this season: he conducted Elektra (7 perfs), The Wreckers (1 perf) and A Village Romeo and Juliet (2 perfs). His assistant conductors, Bruno Walter and Percy Pitt conducted the rest, including Ivanhoe. I think it probable that the English Pitt was allocated Ivanhoe, but I have not been able to verify this. Bruno Walter was no stranger to English opera, and conducted the Ethel Smyth work (and conducted The Mikado at the Krolloper in Berlin).
