The Metrolink's Inland Empire-Orange County (IEOC) Line is a commuter rail line that operates from San Bernardino through Orange County to Oceanside in Northern San Diego County, California, USA. The IEOC Line is the only commuter rail line that does not terminate at Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles. It is also unique because it is the only crosstown commuter rail line in the United States going from suburb to suburb.
The IEOC Line shares stations with the Orange County Line, the 91 Line and the Riverside Line. The IEOC Line terminates at San Bernardino which is also served by the San Bernardino Line.
The IEOC Line, Metrolink's sixth line to be introduced, opened in October 1996. [1] As of July 2004 the IEOC Line operates 16 trains a day on weekdays.
In July 2006, the Orange County Transportation Authority, seeking expanded Orange County service, created weekend service on the IEOC and Orange County Lines. The IEOC Line schedule currently features 6 Saturday trains and 4 Sunday trains.
