Inferior en:mirage created by a thin, warm layer of air near the surface of the west arm of en:Grand Traverse Bay in winter. Image taken from Bryant Park in en:Traverse City, Michigan looking north-northwest along the en:Leelanau Peninsula. The nearest land, on the left, is approximately 3 en:miles (5 en:Kilometre) away, the land seen in the mirage itself is 5-10 miles (8-16 km) distant.
