"If You Love Me (Really Love Me)" is a popular song with music by Marguerite Monnot and lyrics by Geoffrey Parsons. It is based on the French song "Hymne à l'amour", which was popularized by Édith Piaf.
In 1952 the song was recorded by Vera Lynn. The best-known version was recorded by Kay Starr in 1954 and charted that year.
In 1959 it returned to the British sheet music charts due to a new recording by Shirley Bassey. It was also subsequently recorded by Brenda Lee.
In 1965 it was recorded by Greek singer Nana Mouskouri.
In 1992 the song was orchestrated by Johnny Mandel and received a sublime reading by American jazz pianist-singer Shirley Horn on her album Here's to Life, for which Mandel received a Grammy.
Elaine Paige also covered the track on her 1994 album of Piaf's songs.
