Hopatcong High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from Hopatcong, in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Hopatcong Public Schools.
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 813 students and 58.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 13.8.[1]

[edit] Extracurricular activities
The Hopatcong High School Chiefs participate in the Sussex County Interscholastic League. The school is categorized by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) as North I, Group II.
In 2004 the Hopatcong High School varsity cross-country team became the North I, Group II state champions. In 2005 the Boys Cross Country team placed 15th in the state at the New Jersey Meet of Champions.[2] The same year the team successfully defended their state sectional title and placed second in Group II
In 2001 and 2005 the Hopatcong High School varsity football team were the North I, Group II state champions. In 2005, the team beat Sparta High School 20-14 in overtime.[3]

According to The New Jersey Herald, the graduation rate for Hopatcong High School is 86.8%. This rate exceeds the national high school graduation rate of approximately 70%.

- Joe Hewitt, a software programmer who is best known for his work on the Mozilla Firefox web browser.[citation needed]
- Dave Yovanovits (1981-), former NFL offensive lineman most recently of the New Orleans Saints.[4]
