Hongik University Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 2. As its name indicates, it serves the nearby Hongik University. The area around the station and the university is called Hongdae, and is also notorious for being the nightclub mecca of northwestern Seoul. At first, station was known as Donggyo Station, named after the neighborhood that it serves.
In a few years, the Gyeongui Line and A'REX will connect to this station.
