Hong Kong Tourism Board

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), is a Hong Kong government-sub vented body. It was founded on 1 April 2001 under the HKTB Ordinance. It was reconstituted from and replaced the Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA), which was established by Government Ordinance in 1957. Unlike the former HKTA, however, which was an association of members; the HKTB has no relationship to any specific sector or organisation within the industry and is able to support the interests of Hong Kong's tourism in its entirety.

The primary responsibility of the HKTB is to advertise and promote Hong Kong as a tourist destination worldwide, and propose to enhance the experiences of its visitors once they have arrived. The HKTB's job is to maximise the social and economic contribution that tourism makes to the community of Hong Kong, and to strengthen Hong Kong's position as a distinctive, world class and most desired destination.

HKTB works complementary with Hong Kong Tourism Commission, which is tasked by the government to map out tourism policy and strategy.

It also maintains the Quality Tourism Services (QTS) scheme that guarantees high quality standards of Hong Kong products and services and enhances the overall standards of Hong Kong shops and restaurants.
