Hoel Mountains

Hoel Mountains () is a group of mountains including the Weyprecht Mountains and Payer Mountains in Queen Maud Land. They were first photographed from the air and plotted by the German Antarctic Expedition (1938-39), mapped by Norwegian cartographers from surveys and air photos by the Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956-60) and named for Adolf Hoel, Norwegian geologist and Arctic explorer, leader and member of many expeditions to Greenland and Spitsbergen since 1907.
