Edinburgh Zoo is a 94 year old zoological park in Edinburgh, Scotland.
- 1839-1857 — Royal Edinburgh Zoological Gardens exists
- 1909 — RZSS founded[1]
- late 1913 — incorporated by Royal Charter (the only Zoo in Britain)[1]
- 1948 — granted 'Royal' prefix[1]
- 4 Feb 1913 — Corstorphine Hill site purchased[1]
- 22 Jul 1913 — opened to the public[1]
- 1914 — first three King penguins arrive aboard a whaling fleet[1]
