Hillesheim is a municipality in Germany, located in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, and the district Daun. Number of inhabitants: 3200, surface area: 21 km². Hillesheim is the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") Hillesheim.
Hillesheim is an old market town in the heart of the Eifel dating back more than a thousand years. It is famous for the remainders of its mediaeval city wall from the 13th century and St. Martin's Church. The latter holds a precious baroque organ from 1772, built by the famous Stumm family, annually attracting talented international organists. Due to its picturesque sights and its fascinating history, it attracts many tourists every summer.
