Heusenstamm is one of thirteen towns in the district of Offenbach. The town is situated in the south of Hesse and it is a part of the Rhein-Main-Area. It is about eleven kilometers southeast of Frankfurt and about four kilometers south of Offenbach

Heusenstamm is bordered in the north by the city of Offenbach, in the northeast by the town of Obertshausen, in the southeast by the town of Rodgau, in the south by the town of Dietzenbach and in the west by the town of Dreieich.

Heusenstamm was first mentioned in a historical document in the "Eppstein Lehnsbook" (1211) as Huselstam.

The main attraction in Heusenstamm is the old part of the town centre with its narrow streets and half-timbered houses. Very interesting is also the baroque church "St. Cäcilia" built by the architect Balthasar Neumann in 1739 (with frescoes by Christoph Thomas Scheffler), and the palace "Schloss Schönborn", which is now the town hall and was built by the family Schönborn von Heusenstamm in 1661. Other attractions are the old town hall, the Protestant "Gustav Adolf" church (1923) and the ancient monastery Paterhausen.
