Wikipedia policy is to use the most common English-language name. Sometimes there is doubt about what that is. In the case of Heraklion, there is not. I checked a variety of corpora, and they are quite consistent in the ranking, with Heraklion being by far the most common except in News, where Iraklion is most common. The current article title, Heraclion, is rare in all corpora.

A discussion has began about the naming of this article and of Iraklion Archaeological Museum. There is a clear inconsistency here. Please express your opinion and make your propositions either here or in Talk:Iraklion Archaeological Museum. I'm not expert in transliterations. Hence, although I took a position in Talk:Iraklion Archaeological Museum, I cannot say that I'm definitely right.--Yannismarou 14:49, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
