HD 8574 is a yellow-white star in the constellation Pisces. It has an apparent magnitude of +7.12 and absolute magnitude of +3.90. The stellar distance is 44.15 parsecs or 144 light years from our solar system.
In 2001, the star has a massive jovian planet in orbit around it.

HD 8574 b is an extrasolar planet discovered in 2001 by Perrier et al., using doppler spectroscopy. The planet is located at the average distance of 114 Gm from the star. The eccentricity of the orbit is high at around 37%. At periastron, the distance is 72 Gm and at apastron, the distance is 156 Gm, repeating the cycle every 225 days. Based on it mass of 1.96 times Jupiter, the planet is a gas giant with no solid surface like the outer planets of the solar system.
