What is the relevance of the line "Offered a place at University of Glasgow law school, in his second year he realised that all twelve High Court Judges in Scotland were protestant men. "?

The second half of this sentence seems to be out of context in terms of the rest of the article. It is also cited without reference - did Hardeep Singh Kholi refer to this at some point?

Quite bizarre to list o-levels and highers results but not to mention university - either result or location - save "after graduating...". Can we assume the results weren't so great?
