Happy Sunday (Korean:해피 선데이) is a Korean reality-variety show shown on the KBS2 network, which competes directly against MBC's Sunday Sunday Night and SBS's Good Sunday line-up. Although it has been broadcasted since 2003, its line-up of shows has frequently changed, with a complete revamp occurring in Spring of 2007. At that time, three new shows were introduced – Are You Ready, High-Five, and Unforgettable Songs. Due to its poor reception, Are You Ready quickly evolved into 1 Night 2 Days, with most of its cast intact.

[edit] Delicious Quiz (맛있는 퀴즈)
- MC: Hyun Young, Jo Hye Ryun, Jung Ji Young, Kim Shin Young, Boom, Lee Moo Song & Kim Soo Hyun
The first episode aired June 1, 2008 replacing High-Five with Hyun Young and Jo Hye Ryun still intact. Delicious Quiz is a food-based variety show where they will travel around Korea visiting different restaurants, cook, solve problems and answer questions related to food.
[edit] 1 Night 2 Days (1박 2일)
- MC: Kang Ho Dong
- Cast: Eun Ji Won, Lee Su Geun, Kim C, Lee Seung Gi, MC Mong, Sang Geun (dog)
- Former member(s): Ji Sang Ryul, No Hong Chul, Kim Jong Min
In this segment, hosted by Kang Ho Dong, the members go off on a trip to a Korean village and try to survive. Their trip is also accompanied by a dog, Sang Geun. His real name is Herbie. Sang Geun is a Great Pyrenees. Throughout the show, there are several mini-games played to see who will eat dinner (as opposed to a simple snack), who will serve the most work that has given during each journey every week, and who will sleep comfortably. The segment's cast includes entertainer Eun Ji Won and comedian Lee Su Geun; recent additions include singers Kim C and Lee Seung Gi and rapper MC Mong. Former members include Kim Jong Min, Ji Sang Ryul, and Noh Hong-cheol.
Former member, Kim Jong Min started his mandatory military service in November of 2007, while No left the show due to scheduling conflicts. No Hong Chul now appears on SBS's Good Sunday line-up in the segment Change.
Kang Ho Dong has given names to the cast and sometimes are called by their nicknames when they do something particular. Kang Ho Dong is usually called "pig" (돼지) or "bear" (곰) because of his size. MC Mong is called "wild monkey" (야생 원숭이), because of his appearance and actions. Eun Ji Won is named "elementry student" (은초딩) or "kid" (아이) because of his behavior on the show. Lee Su Geun is named "worker" (일꾼) because of his effort he puts into the show. Kim C has sometimes been known as being an "expert" (달인) at something and also "big brother" (큰형) because of his care for the younger casts on the show. Lee Seung Gi's nickname is "shocking" (허당) thanks to his weird and strange way of thinking and talking.
The group has taken various trips throughout Korea, including many villages and islands. The most notable trip to date has been to the Liancourt Rocks, controversial due to the ownership claims of both South Korea and Japan. On their 17th trip to Wando County in South Jeolla, the cast was told to live and experience the wildlife having no access to their cellphones and building a tent on their own with the given materials.
Singer and actor Lee Ji Hoon was offered to join the cast of 1 Night 2 Days but rejected the offer twice. Lee Ji Hoon was asked to answer to the question "1 Night 2 Days makes you jealous right?" on an episode of KBS Sang Sang Plus Season 2 which aired May 27, 2008. He said he was jealous and further explained that he was very close with one of the producers of 1 Night 2 Days as he has worked with him before. He rejected the offer and chose to take a role on MBC's drama New Heart. The role he was given was as a celebrity, which ended up not fitting to the drama's storyline. His character was later removed from the plot. He rejected his second offer for his new drama You Are My Destiny.[1]
The cast in this show has lost almost all self-pride for food, sleep and simple items or needs.
[edit] Wake-Up Song
The trot song, "Please Endure (참아주세요)" which is sung by Kim Hye Yeon was 1 Night 2 Days first wake-up song. "Please Endure", a song about snakes drew attention with its repetitive lyrics and melody. Later on, a remix version of the song was aired in mid-February as the wake-up song. Since March 23, 2008, the show's wake-up song is a combination of the members' songs mixing various voices into the melody. For example, MC Mong's new hit single, "Circus", could be heard, or the classic favorite "Words I Didn't Say" (하지못한말) by Lee Seung Gi is mixed with Kang Ho Dong's "Seung-Gi yah" shout. Also, the voices of the cast and crew are included in all of the wake up song, but mostly Kang Ho Dong.
[edit] Bok Bul Bok
"Bok Bul Bok" is a game that is often played to determine which members will be sleeping outside as well as to which members will be getting food. "Bok Bul Bok" is a group of traditional Korean games like "Kung Kung Ta", a game where a person says a word and the next person has to make a new word with the ending letter, or simple games like juggling soccer balls and more. A memorable game was a wheel of food. The wheel included lemon, soy sauce, vinegar, kimchi, and many worst things. The first three members who lose the game are given a punishment, such as drinking sea water or soy sauce, eating a lemon and other awkward food. If they can pass their punishment, they are given another chance to play the game before they determine which members sleep outside or they win.
[edit] Unforgettable Songs/Immortal Music (불후의 명곡)
- MCs: Tak Jae Hoon, Shin Jung Hwan, Kim Sung Eun
The final segment of Happy Sunday, titled 불후의 명곡 in Korean (Bulhooae Myeonggok), is co-hosted by former Country Kko Kko partners Shin Jung-hwan and Tak Jae-hoon. Although the show initially had various co-hosts, Kim Sung-eun became the final permanent host alongside Shin and Tak. Throughout the course of the show, the hosts will talk to the featured guests regarding their best hits and will attempt to perform them according to the artist(s)' standard. The show has typically showcased older singers from the past who are still active in the entertainment industry, including Lee Seung-chul and Kim Heung-gook. However, they have also had episodes on more recent artists, including S.E.S., in recognition of their 10th anniversary (of their debut).

At the show's start, comedienne Jo Hye Ryun, entertainer Hyun Young, singer Chae Yeon, MC Park Kyung-lim, and actress Kim Min-sun were the High-Five stars. Due to filming commitments, Kim had to leave the show on its November 4, 2007 broadcast. She has since been replaced by news anchor Lee Jung-min. This show has been replaced by Delicious Quiz.
