Haim Aharon Valero

Haim (or Chaim) Aharon Valero (1846-1923) born in Jerusalem, Palestine. Son of Jacob Valero (1813-1874) who established the first private bank in Palestine: "Jacob Valero & Company" .
After his brother's death in 1874, Haim became head of the family and general manager of the Valero Bank in Palestine. Haim Aharon was the first person chosen to the Sephardi Kollel leadership who was not a rabbi. He headed the Jerusalem Sephardi community for twenty five years. He served as a member of the District Council, the mixed court, and the consular courts in Jerusalem.
