Gunwinggu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Gunwinggu or Kunwinjku[1] is an Australian Aboriginal tribe of Northern Australia. The historical living area is south of Jungle Creek and around the East Alligator River.
They speak the Gunwinggu language.
One myth is that an ancestral crocodile arose from the inlands, eating land which resulted in water channels that created the Liverpool River. Mimi spirits were also said to have taught the ancestors how to paint.
