[edit] AfD nomination of A. P. Balachandran

An editor has nominated A. P. Balachandran, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A. P. Balachandran and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 08:44, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Sorry, I just noticed your message, it was right under the arbcom message so I did not see it immediately. Copyright is a serious problem here, so we need to provide a good substantiation of he copyright status. I'll check to see if the logo can be used here. Grandmaster (talk) 06:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Me

ROFL, you think I'm ARMENIAN? Wow. Also, please show me where my maps of Kalbajar are incorrect. If you want to "clean up my garbage" and "stop me", by all means, please go to WP:RFC so they may laugh at you as well. --Golbez (talk) 19:51, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Yes You

So you are not Armenian ( I am sure you are not either Azerbaijani) but you are very much interested in uploading maps of administrative districts of Azerbaijan in which half of Kalbajar is shown as a part of so-called Nagorno-Karabakh. If you disagree with me, see [1] or see map of Kalbajar before it was occupied by Armenia. Please don't upload maps that you drew according your dreams but refer to the official documents. I call those maps that you uploaded nothing but garbage unless you provide with official sources. If you insist on that those fake maps are correct, you are going to have a trouble as an editor Golbez -- a third party administrator. -Gulmammad (talk) 00:52, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

The map shows the area of Azerbaijan that they claim but do not control, just as maps of China show land they claim but do not own, same with Taiwan. Believe it or not, but Nagorno-Karabakh exists, even if only as a place Armenia occupies. "nothing but garbage" is very nice, have a cookie. Perhaps you should discuss this with the various Azerbaijani editors who for the last few years have had no problem with those maps? Perhaps you would like us to delete our articles on everything Nagorno-Karabakh? Yes, I insist they are correct, I look forward to your hilarious attempts to do... something to me, who knows. --Golbez (talk) 00:54, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Your map had better not show the half of Kalbajar as a part of so-called Nagorno-Karabakh in the article about Kalbajar. You could put it only on the article about Nagorno-Karabakh, a region which is being claimed by separatist Armenians in the region, and not recognized by any country in the world! But you have included that region to all maps of administrative regions of Azerbaijan. There is nothing called Nagorno-Karabakh as an administrative region of Azerbaijan but instead Khojavend, Shusha, Khojali and Tartar. Your maps are not still valid and for now they are garbage, showing the dreams of Armenian ideologists. When Nagorno-Karabakh is recognized by world community, then you will put them in wiki OK? --Gulmammad (talk) 01:34, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Nah. They've stayed there for years, you won't stop them. If you want to, by the way, please review the Azeri/Armenian arbitration, and I also suggest you communicate more with the other Azeri users. --Golbez (talk) 01:46, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
I strongly require from you to provide those maps with official sources! I also can draw many maps as I wish and upload to wiki, that will be my work but not document! You did what I am telling and up to now no-one has noticed about your fake maps! In Wikipedia I want to see correct information about anything. Let us not fool wiki users with our self-ideologies! --Gulmammad (talk) 02:03, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

I have to insist you take this directly to WP:RFC, as this will only lead to an edit war. You have to ask the wider community. --Golbez (talk) 03:23, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Azerbaijani passport

Two changes should be made in relation to the photo of the Azerbaijani passport which is in the Types of passports section: (1) The caption should be changed to "Inside front cover and first page of a non-biometric Azerbaijani passport". That's what's in the photo. (2) The photo, which is near the text about emergency passports, should be moved up, so that it is near the text about ordinary passports, because that's what the photo illustrates. [edit] Facts about Mohammed El Naschie

Facts about Mohamed El Naschie

This Dear Sir, I'm a wikipedia user (nasr2000) who created the article about prof. El Naschie. Prof. El Naschie asked me to remove the article completely from wikipedia as some people are hacking it continuously. I discovered that , although i'm the creator of the article, it is not allowed for me to remove it!! can you please help me in removing this article as soon as possible as he doesn't want an article about him on wiki which anyone can edit.

Well, as a former student of professor M El Naschie and as a doctorate student in Quantum gravity and related fields in UK, i can say that prof. el naschie is a WELL KNOWN scientist and very respected in his field of research. he is one of the most prominent researchers in his field.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nasr2000 (talk • contribs) 11:25, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

i'm not insulting you, you told me (impolite) first, didn't you? if you consider this word an isult then why did you tell me it?! you should respect people if you want people to respect you. I don't like to insult anyone and haven't done that at all before. i just told you what you told me just to realize that (impolite means an insult) and you did realize because you got very angry from it exactly like i got when i read it!!

[edit] M. S. El Naschie

i don't know how wiki administrators lestin to any jealous or malicious person. you should investigate by yourself about what faragali said. all of what he said is completely wring and just some lies. prof. el naschie main contributions are in the field of chaos and fractals so it is more convenient for his papers to be published in Chaos, solitons and fractals. he also has some papers published in other journals. if you want to delete the article delete it immediately without putting this deletion marks which is considered as an insult to Prof. el naschie. insulting famous and respected people like that is punishable by law and Prof. el naschie is going to take a legal actions if you don't stop that. he wants you to delete the article because he is well known without wikipedia, he doesn't need wikipedia to be known. i created the article for him and unfortunately cannot delete it. can you please delete el naschie article which i created? thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nasr2000 (talk • contribs) 16:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Yes, I investigated by myself and nominated the article for deletion. Thanks --Gulmammad (talk) 18:02, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I had just left a comment for you on the talk page of this article. What you say makes a lot of sense and I agree that it doesn't appear the article meets our requirements. I suggested that perhaps you would like to open a deletion discussion. Thanks for the information. Shell babelfish 18:57, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Use of Rollback

Please rollback only for reverting vandalism. Please do not use rollback for content disputes as you have done numerous times in Lachin. Please see WP:ROLL for more information. Pocopocopocopoco (talk) 03:37, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

I've used the rollback tool to revert edits by 83.217.229.146, 91.103.28.248, and 212.73.95.1. I realized that the editor behind these IP addresses is almost professional editor in Wikipedia but doesn't want to appear with a real username. And I believe I've done something correct. However, I found some parts of edit that was done by 91.103.28.248 had believable sources and I've just placed them back to the article Lachin. --Gulmammad (talk) 14:29, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Please defend your use of Rollback here. Pocopocopocopoco (talk) 21:26, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

I defended my use of the Rollback there. If you need something more, let me know.
--Gulmammad (talk) 00:43, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Gulmammad: Then that needs to be said in a edit summary, which you will now have to do as your rollback has been temporarily removed. Tiptoety talk 21:34, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Gulmammad, I am taking Tiptoety's advise to discuss this matter directly with you. Articles related to Armenia and Azerbaijan are of a very sensitive nature. Please exercise great care when reverting or making controversial edits. Discuss your controversial edits and reverts in the talk page. It is very important that you always use useful edit summaries and avoid using edit summaries like "are you looking for a place to put armenian related information?)". Most of the editors who edit Armenia-Azerbaijan articles confine themselves or are confined to one revert per week per article. If you find that someone reverts you, discuss the matter in the talk page rather than reverting back. I hope this helps. Pocopocopocopoco (talk) 01:00, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I haven't had so much info about Armenian-Azerbaijan related articles since I haven't participated in any of WP:ARBAA as you might have had. I wander why you defend so much edits those were made by unknown IP's? Why you haven't warned (as I am going to do) any of them for removing sourced information from the article many times such as this by 212.73.95.1, which after my revert was repeated here by 83.217.229.146. Instead you have been trying very hard to take my right of using the rollback tool and to put me under supervised editing for reverting them using the rollback. Is this action of you constructive?
--Gulmammad (talk) 01:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
I had asked you nicely to stop using rollback and you simply switched to using undo without leaving any comment. That is why I posted about getting you put on supervised editing. Pocopocopocopoco (talk) 03:42, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Pocopocopocopoco, at this time I do not think that Gulmammad's actions warrant him being placed on supervised editing. Hopefully he has learned his lesson and will be more careful in the future. Tiptoety talk 04:02, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

I have no intentions of commenting on the situation. I'm just here to say that if you get the rollback function back, you can put importScript('User:Gracenotes/rollback.js'); into your monobook.js page. Then you can use an edit summary when rolling back edits from a diff. That would prevent this problem from popping up in the future :) --Cheers -The Hybrid- 08:27, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome. Cheers :) -The Hybrid- 02:23, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Edit warring, notice of discretionary sanctions

As you seem to be engaged in edit warring in an area covered by an arbitration committee case, this is to be your warning that discretionary sanctions, as provided in this case may be applied to you. Specifically, further edit warring may lead to a block from editing, or a temporary ban from editing articles on which edit wars have taken place. Please make sure to use dispute resolution rather than engaging in repeated reverts. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:23, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] El Naschie

Hey writer of the above article, I just want others to know that you are ignorant to attack one of the World's, and certainly the Eastern Worlds' premier scientists. Mohamed El Naschie was trained as a Civil Engineer, with an emphasis on structural mechanics. He achieved international fame, as well as fortune, in a short period of time during which individuals like your good self would have probably spent cooking up lies about others. Once he resolved a number of critical issues in mechanics, his inquisitive mind led him to start reading in physics. How many researchers made the transition from structural engineering to pure physics, and achieved international recognition of their work in both within 20 years? ONLY Mohamed El Naschie. That he does not have ANY degree in physics is indeed his Miracle, not a point to be ashamed of. I was sitting next to the late Ilya Prigogine, Professor at the University of Brussels, I think, and a Nobel Laureate (1977), when Mohamed El Naschie was giving a lecture, using the black board and a piece of chalk. I MYSELF, WITH MY OWN EARS, heard him say "If this is proven completely, this is a Nobel Prize'. Enough said about your slander! And YES, Mohamed El Naschie was honored in China like very very few are, and a whole conference, to which I was invited but could not go, was held in his honor and named after him. What is the standing of the Conference Chair is really not an important issue, but for people like you. Finally, why does El Naschie publish in his own journal? Simple, if I had a shop selling cars, and I was the best car manufacturer in the world, why bless other shops with my cars? I would place my cars in my shop. Mohamed's work is simply brilliant, so he promotes his Journal, as if it needs promotion, by publishing his work in his Journal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scorpion300 (talkcontribs) 15:44, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

I am confused with the statement "writer of the above article". Please would you make clear that it refers to which article. There are thousands of scientists with the same capabilities as El Naschie. What mostly affected me to nominate the article for deletion was the fact that this author has published about 300 papers and got 29 citations, most probably by himself in his own papers. If almost no-one cites his works, they don't play any role in the development of the science, then they are apparently useless, and we don't need to have an article about such scientists in encyclopedia. Gülməmməd Talk 16:35, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit]

It is close to 40 years since I have been a close friend of ElNaschie. My admiration for him as a person endowed with 'beautiful' mind and an enormous heart has constantly increased. His innate talent for numbers and mathemetics has enabled him to acquire virtuosic mathematical skills akin to those of Paganini with the violin. Such a talent is an enormous asset if one is to delve deeply into the realm of mathematical physics. True he was once an engineer but with this talent and a searching and manifold mind he discovered that his true love lay in the field of general physics and in particular the elusive and challenging problem of the unification of the forces of nature. He has taken up the challenge and achieved brilliant results acknowledged by leading researchers in this field throughout the world. That some of his papers have topped the citation list speaks for itself. There are some who criticize him for his prolific publications; surely this is out of sheer malice and envy. For that matter should we scoff at Mozart or Bach for their prolificity? To be the target of the mudslingers and racists is no novelty: it is a necessary evil on the road to glory. Many of the great names in science (and other disciplines for that matter) have had to endure the slings and arrows of their contemporary rivals-Boltzman, Becquerel, Jenner and Einstein are a few names that come immediately to mind. So be it with ElNaschie, a man who to me, to borrow Blake's words, holds infinity in the palm of his hands and sees eternity in an hour. To him I say be patient, time will certainly vindicate you.

[edit] Re: Sagure

I'm puzzled at your latest edits. (1) It's the standard of all of the towns in Ethiopia to be listed by Region & Zone, both of which are official subdivisions; the category "town" only duplicates the info at the top of the infobox. (2) Using commas when quoting a number in thousands under 10,000 is a common practice, & standard over the other articles on Ethiopian towns. (3) There's nothing wrong with redlinks in an article in fact, they are encouraged for they suggest new articles; further the CADU is a notable organization that promoted economic development in Ethiopia. -- llywrch (talk) 18:39, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Since you are more familiar with the African related articles, I encourage you to go ahead and correct what you think is wrong. Regarding the red link, there is a tendency that there shouldn't be redlinks in articles because it makes articles look somehow ugly. Removal of the redlinks don't mean the topic is not important. Cheers, Gülməmməd Talk 19:17, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
