Guidance, Navigation and Control

Guidance, Navigation and Control (abbreviated GNC or GN&C) is a branch of engineering science dealing with the design of systems to automatically control or remote-control devices which are moving in space.

Examples for GNC systems are:

• Autopilots
• Driverless cars, like Mars rovers or those partcipating in the DARPA Grand Challenge
• Guided missiles
• precision-guided airdrop systems
