"Groove Me" is a 1970 funk hit released by King Floyd on the Malaco label. The song was composed and recorded at the same time as Jean Knight's hit single, "Mr. Big Stuff".
Much like "Big Stuff", the song became a crossover hit for King Floyd. The song reached number-one on the R&B charts and number six on the pop chart starting King Floyd's career. Though he didn't have another hit as big as "Groove Me", he kept performing until his 2006 death at the age of 61.
"Groove Me" has endured as one of the cornerstone samples of hip-hop songs, which mostly sampled parts of the singer's "aw sukki-sukki now" opening.
The song was sung by The Blues Brothers on their album Briefcase Full of Blues.
