Grin and Bear It
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grin and Bear It is a daily panel created by George Lichtenstein under the penname George Lichty. It has been syndicated from 1932 through 1940 and from 1942 until the present.
Cartoonists who have worked on the panel include Lichty, Fred Wagner, Rick Yager, and Ralph Dunagin. It received the National Cartoonist Society Newspaper Panel Cartoon Award for 1956, 1960, 1962 and 1964.
Lichty's cartoon style had a strong influence on the cartoons drawn by Joe Teller, as evidenced in the book, "When I'm Dead All This Will Be Yours!": Joe Teller -- A Portrait by His Kid (2000) by Teller (of Penn & Teller).
