Grevillea pilosa is a low growing shrub which is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. It grows to between 0.4 and 1 metre in height and produce red or pink flowers between June and December (early winter to early summer) in its native range.
The species was first formally described by botanist Alex George in 1966 in The Western Australian Naturalist.
Currently, there are two recognised subspecies:
- Grevillea pilosa subsp. redacta Olde & Marriott
- Grevillea pilosa A.S.George subsp. pilosa
A former subspecies G. pilosa subsp. dissecta McGill. is currently recognised as a species in its own right, namely Grevillea dissecta (McGill.) Olde & Marriott
