Great Glass Elevator is an American group from Southern California, formed in February 2004. The band signed to Atlantic Records in May 2006[1] and released and EP called "Our Hands Turned Into Machines," and have recently returned from their first U.S. tour after gaining a great amount of popularity through MySpace.

- Before being signed, Great Glass Elevator won four local "Battle of the Bands" contests over the course of one year
- The band caused an accidental stir in October of 2006 when a video stunt for their Halloween show involving singer David Braun's death was mistaken for fact
- Members of the band have appeared onstage in a wide and somewhat bizarre variety of outfits and costumes, including Alice in Wonderland, a helmeted spaceman, an enormous ape, a soldier, a zombie, a bright orange bodysuit and a much-too-small sailor outfit. No explanation for said accoutrements has ever been offered.
