Granagh-Ballingarry GAA (Irish:Greanach-Baile an Gharraí) is a GAA club based in west Limerick within the jurisdiction of Limerick GAA. The club is situated near Knockfierna Hill. Granagh-Ballingarry GAA was formed in 1990 after the merger between Granagh and Ballingarry GAA clubs. Previously, the clubs had been playing together in some competitions.[1]

[edit] Hurling
Hurling is the more popular game in the parish. Granagh-Ballingarry currently enjoy senior hurling status, after defeating Glenroe GAA 4-10 to 3-10 in the 2005 Intermediate County Final.[1] Granagh-Ballingarry reached the 2006 Limerick Senior Hurling quarter finals, and also in 2007, where they were defeated by Kilmallock. The club won their first senior championship in 1911 under the guise of Ballingarry,[1] after having won the intermediate championship the year before.[1] The club were also finalists in 1896, 1904 and 1912 as Ballingarry, and in 1945 under the current name, Granagh-Ballingarry. In the 1990s the club won several Limerick GAA West Division championships, before winning the Limerick Junior Hurling Championship in 1998.[1]

The minor hurling team has reached two Limerick Minor Hurling Championship finals, firstly in 1971, defeating Kilmallock, before finishing runners-up to Kilmallock in 2006.

The ladies camogie team were runners-up in the All-Ireland club championship in 1996, having lost to Pearses, Galway.[2] They then won three All-Ireland championships in 1998, 1999 and 2003.[2][3][4] In 1998 Granagh-Ballingarry defeated St Vincent's, Dublin; in the 1999 and 2003 finals, the club defeated Davitts Galway,[2] in 2003 the margin being 1-10 to 1-6, at Cusack Park, Mullingar.[4][5] The club reached the final again in 2004,[2][3] but lost to St. Lachtain’s, Kilkenny.[2]

- Donal O'Grady played for Limerick in the 2007 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship and was an All Star nominee
- David Clancy is now a member of the Limerick Senior Hurling Panel, and has made his competitive debut for the county.[6]
