[edit] Accreditation

In 1994, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools gave accreditation to "Grace College and Seminary",[2] thereby joining the previously two individually-accredited institutions. It is also a member of several organizations including[3] the Council of Independent Colleges,[4] the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities,[5], the Indiana Conference of Higher Education, the Independent Colleges and Universities of Indiana,[6] and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.[7] It is also approved by the Association of Christian Schools International[8]

[edit] New Provost

The institution welcomed a new provost in 2007, Dr. Bill Katip, a Grace alumnus. Beginning with the start of the 2008-2009 academic year, Dr. Carrie Yocum will serve as the Assistant Provost.

[edit] Prison Education

The institution has a ministry to the incarcerated in Indiana at various correctional facilities throughout the state directed by Dr. John Teevan.

[edit] Grace Theological Seminary

The seminary enjoys a history that dates back to its 1937[9] organization by Alva J. McClain,[10] the founder and first president. Its mission statement reads, "Grace Theological Seminary is a learning community dedicated to teaching, training, and transforming the whole person for local church and global ministry."[11]

The seminary is a candidate for accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.[1]. The dean of the seminary is Dr. Jeff Gill.

[edit] Grace College

It began as a two-year college in 1948,[9] and is currently categorized as a four-year liberal arts school by The College Board.[12] Its mission statement reads, "Grace College is an evangelical Christian community of higher education which applies Biblical values in strengthening character, sharpening competence, and preparing for service."

[edit] Residence Halls

Each specific Dormitories have a resident director from campus that is assigned to it. Some dorms have assistant resident directors (usually graduate students), who help with overseeing the residence hall), as well as resident assistants and growth group leaders that lead weekly small groups on the hall for residents.

For those students who do not live in the residence halls, there is an off-campus association. A lounge for these students is in Westminster Hall near the Student Grille. The lounge features televisions, couches, tables to study at, access to the internet, purified water, and food and pop that can be purchased.
