Goniatitina is one of two suborders of the Goniatitida order. They are an extinct group of ammonoid, which are shelled cephalopods related to squids, belemnites, octopuses, and cuttlefish, and more distantly to the nautiloids.

In addition to the 17 superfamilies recognized in the suborder there are also two families, Girtyoceratidae, and Baschkiritidae and one genus, Pygmaeoceras that have not been placed into any of the superfamiles.
