Formed in 1998, in Adelaide, South Australia, by mutual friends who initially got together to work on some 4 track recordings recorded by guitarist and vocalist David Pagano. Their debut E.P "V" was soon recorded and shortly after a copy made its way to national youth broadcaster Triple J, the irresistible "Mildreds Modern Way" was soon added to national high rotation and earned them success on the AIR and ARIA charts[1]. The second single, the heavier "Kill Flowers", was released a year later and went on to achieve even better results than "Mildreds. In 2001 Gone to Earth won an APRA award (Emily Burrows Award) for their contribution to South Australian music.[2]
After working with producers/engineers Chris Dickie (The Pogues, Depeche Mode) and Paul Gomersal (Kate Bush, George Michael)and long time friend Kim Webster (Fruit, Goose)[1] the band released their first full length album "Semaphore" with the single "Fireproof" and a version of the Eurythmics classic "Love is a Stranger" to excellent reviews but with changing tides within the local scene the album was ignored by radio.
All three members live in different states and are actively involved in various projects.
