Ghiryan (Arabic: غريان) is a city in Libya, in the Gharyan Municipality. Alternate name: Gharyān. Gharyan is one of the biggest cities in Algarbi mountains. It was considered the capital of the movement of the Libyan resistance against the Italian invasion in the 20th century. It is also well-known for its ceramics industry. Many famous Libyan figures during the Italian invasion were from Gharyran such as Asharif Alghyriany.
