Gerry McAlpine (born May 26, 1939) is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1990 to 1999, representing the Progressive Conservative Party.
McAlpine was born in Dubuc, Saskatchewan and was educated at the University of Manitoba. In private life, he worked as a real estate broker and a nutritional food distributor.
McAlpine was first elected to the Manitoba legislature in the provincial election of 1990, defeating incumbent Liberal Iva Yeo by 769 votes in the riding of Sturgeon Creek. He was re-elected by a greater margin in the general election of 1995.
McAlpine was never appointed to Cabinet, though he did serve as a Task Force member for the War on Drugs in Manitoba. In 1994, he passed a private member's bill declaring April 6 to be Manitoba Tartan Day, in recognition of the province's Scottish heritage.
The Progressive Conservatives were defeated by the New Democratic Party in the provincial election of 1999, and McAlpine lost to NDP candidate Bonnie Korzeniowski by about 600 votes in the redistributed riding of St. James. He did not attempt a return to the legislature in 2003.
