German National Honor Society

The German National Honor Society (German: Deutsche Ehrenverbindung), is an honor society for outstanding students of the German language. The college level of the society is Delta Phi Alpha, and the high school level is Delta Epsilon Phi. It functions as a branch of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG), and was founded in Coral Gables, Florida, USA, in 1968.
For induction, a student must have completed at least three semesters of German classes, with a 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale, calculated on a cumulative basis for all semesters. The student must also have at least a 3.0 GPA in their other classes, although this prerequisite varies by school.
