[edit] Needs Work
Somebody with a bit more time than me at this moment should work on the George Gerbner page, he passed away apparently last Saturday, December 24th, according to this LA Times obit:
George Gerbner, 86; Educator Researched the Influence of TV Viewing on Perceptions By Myrna Oliver, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-gerbner29dec29,0,1533958.story?coll=la-home-obituaries
Also online is this Philadelphia Inquirer obit which says his wife passed away on December 8th, earlier this month:
Ilona K. Gerbner, 87, theater instructor By Gayle Ronan Sims Philadelphia Inquirer Staff Writer Posted on Sat, Dec. 17, 2005 http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/local/states/new_jersey/13427263.htm
Mr. Gerbner's work was very insightful, it's very much worth studying by anyone concerned about violence, oppressive trends in society and media, and how minority groups are portrayed in the media. *** Burl, Southern Students for Choice, Jacksonville, FL
[edit] added a link
I added a link to George's webpage.
Somehow this page SHOULD show up when one searches "Gerbner" in the search window. But it doesn't. Alas!
