Genesis is the debut album by death metal band Job for a Cowboy. It is their first concept album and is based on possible consequences of the VeriChip, tying in with the Book of Revelation and the apocalypse.[1] It would also see Job for a Cowboy change into a more death metal based sound with Doom being a deathcore release. Fans who pre-ordered the album received signed copies in the days preceding its official release date of May 15, 2007.
On the day of the release, the album debuted at number 54 on the Billboard 200[2] and number 2 for Top Independent Albums[2] selling over 12,000 copies in its first week.[3] The music video for "Embedded" was directed by Grammy Award nominated Popcore Films.
