Gelb Consulting Group is a Houston, Texas-based marketing research and consulting firm. Gelb Consulting is one of Houston’s largest marketing firms serving clients globally in a variety of industries including health care, oil and gas.

Gabriel M. Gelb is founder and senior consultant of Gelb Consulting Group. He started the firm in 1965; it now has 17 professionals. The firm is noted for its long-term relationships, some over 20 years, with such companies as Hines in corporate real estate; Schlumberger in energy; the Texas Medical Center and M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in healthcare. ^[1] ^[2]

John B. Elmer has owned Gelb Consulting Group since 2000 and now serves as president. ^[3] He joined Gelb in 1984. Since that time, John has received certifications in both new product development and management consulting. He has served as subject matter expert for three large-scale benchmarking studies on new product development and market research for the American Productivity & Quality Center since 1996. John has conducted numerous conjoint analysis and discrete choice modeling studies since 1985, and authored his first article on applications of conjoint analysis in 1990 for the Journal of Pricing Management. He is a frequent lecturer and seminar leader.^[4]

John M. McKeever is Senior Vice President with Gelb Consulting Group. In his position, he leads the firm’s consulting engagements in brand strategy, service innovation, and other strategic marketing areas. He has been a principal of the firm since 1998. Mr. McKeever works with executives at companies like Baker Hughes, Duke University Health System, Halliburton, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital to develop insights about their markets and make strategic marketing decisions. He specialized in accelerated network development with companies such as Prudential, Aetna and FHP (now PacifiCare).^[5]
