There are several items in this article that I think are very questionable, such as the claim some people thought Gauge was underage when she started out in porn. I've never heard this rumor before. Also, what is the source of the information that Gauge picked the name "Gauge" to insinuate a 12-gauge shotgun? CJ 08:15, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Either because someone figured it'd be punny to name a porn starlet after a tool or it's just another random name based on fruit (see dictionary definition of "gage"). -- Ashmodai 08:18, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

If you look at the bottom of her "official site" home page, you'll see that the copyright notice reads ©1998-2006 12 Gauge Entertainment LLC. That's admittedly not a definitive proof of much of anything, but it certainly suggests at the very least that the meaning of "gauge" is associated with shotgun bore rather than fruit size. --Eliyahu S ^Talk 04:11, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I discussed this with Gauge, in person, in Kansas City on 2006-11-11. She verified that the name Gauge comes from "12 Gauge (shotgun)". -- kw 09:02, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, the French version of the article says displays a different site: http://www.xxxgauge.com/ which looks a LOT more professional! And it really seems the official site. --Vlad 23:53, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Unprofessional or not (and I do agree, as a web developer, that the official site DOES look awfully unprofessional), the site even has a video of Gauge herself stating that this is her official website and all other sources (interviews, etc) indicate the same. Most commercial rip-offs of porn sites look very professional (well, as professional as ordinary commercial pornsites tend to look, which is to say, not very, just expensive and cookie-cut), but having the actress herself state it's their website is as good as it can get. -- Ashmodai 18:16, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

My major concern with ilovegauge.com is that it's unprofessionalism seems to extend beyond where it should. Notice that after the intro the main picture on the right hand side is so badly cropped as to be laughable. Could the audio feed from the intro video have been dubbed? I guess we'll have to wait for someone to join both and check them out... (Didn't log in--Petey)

I discussed this with Gauge, in person, on 2006-11-11 in Kansas City. She explained that the only two real, "official" Gauge domains / websites are http://www.ilovegauge.com/ and http://www.gaugearmy.com/. xxxgauge.com simply had a contract with Gauge a couple years ago, and they maintain a website with the old content that they own. If you look at the index.php page on xxxgauge.com, you'll notice a reference to a movie entitled "Chapter X" that she "just shot". That movie was released over two years ago, so the content on xxxgauge is obviously very dated. --kw 09:05, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone else notice that on the picture, Gauge's areolae seem visible, particularly on her left breast? Not a prude or anything, but wondering if that might be a violation of Wikipedia policy of some sort.

But is the content appropriate and necessary to the article though? I got the idea that notation was far more about relevant pictures that some might find offensive in their proper articles though. Pornography, sure. Nipples, sure. A person who happens to be a porn star... it kind of opens the door for Wikipedia the porn site.

There's no reason to crop it and, while it has been released under the Creative Commons License, there is no reason to modify something without a good reason to do so. A porn star's areola is not one. - 24.23.37.62 (talk) 06:34, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
