G-Mex Metrolink station is in the Castlefield area of Manchester city centre. It gets its name because it is located next to the former G-Mex centre now called Manchester Central. Although the name has changed, the Metrolink station has retained the name. There is a footbridge linking the Metrolink station to Deansgate railway station and another to the The Great Northern Warehouse. There are two staircases to Collier Street (Mamucium Roman Fort) and to Deansgate Lock on Whitworth Street West.
G-Mex station is the point where the Manchester Metrolink changes between 'tram-mode' for street-running through the city centre and 'train mode' for running on the former British Rail lines.
