Fukushima Domain

The Fukushima Domain (福島藩 Fukushima-han?) was a Japanese domain of the Edo period, located in southern Mutsu Province (modern-day Fukushima Prefecture). Castle location was the Fukusima Castle (福島城 Fukusima-jō?). Feudal lords were the Honda clan, the Hotta clan, and the Itakura clan. All of them were Fudai daimyos.

Fukushima castle was once called Sugime Castle (杉目城 Sugime-jō?). It was extant as far back as the 1400s, when it was ruled by the Date clan.

The Fukusima Castle was located on the site of the current Fukishima Prefecture Hall (福島県庁 Fukusima-ken chō?), Sugitsuma District (杉妻町 Sugi-tsuma chō?), Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture.

Omotedaka (表高 Omote-daka?)(official's salaries): 150,000 koku(The Honda clan)→ 100,000 koku(The Hotta clan)→ 30,000 koku(The Itakura clan).

Also, there is no establishment of the Branch Domain (支藩 Shi-han?) of each clan in the Fukushima Domain Lord period.
The Honda clan was awarded fiefs the Yamasaki Domain (山崎藩 Yamasaki-han?) of Harima Province, and the Iwase Domain (岩瀬藩 Iwase-han?) of Mutsu Province in the Kooriyama Domain (郡山藩 Kooriyama-han?) period of Yamato Province.
