Free to Fall was the third and final single lifted from Debbie Harry's second solo album, Rockbird. Unlike the album's previous two singles, it failed to chart on the Hot 100 or any other significant US chart. It did, however reach the top 10 in the UK. The B-side to the single, "Feel The Spin", was a previous US dance hit from the Krush Groove soundtrack.
The 7" edit of "Free to Fall" is included on Chrysalis Records/EMI's 1999 compilation Most of All - The Best of Deborah Harry.
