Francis "Francie" Bellew (born March 25, 1976) is an Irish Gaelic footballer whose county team is Armagh. He is a fan favourite, admired by most and adored by many He has also been considered one of the best defenders in the modern game. He has won 4 All-Ireland club medals with Crossmaglen Rangers in 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2007. The pinnacle of his career was 2002 when he won an All-Ireland senior medal with Armagh when they defeated Kerry in the final. Francie made his inter-county debut against Louth in early 2002, and then subsequently made his Championship debut against Tyrone in the Ulster Championship. He currently has four Ulster Championship medals, from 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Francie has been ruled out of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship for 2007 due to a cruciate ligament injury.[1]
