Francesco Corrado Frasca, military and naval historian, was born in Treviso, Veneto, Italy (3 november 1955). His work experience includes service with Italy's Ministry for Defence. He is Major (retired) of the Gendarmerie and Military Police. As a professional analyst of national strategic policy, he has also worked as a research fellow for the Military Centre for Strategic Studies and lecturer at the Maritime War Institute of Leghorn.
In 1980 Professor Francesco Frasca graduated from the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Padua (Major in Economics), from where he moved to France to pursue postgraduate studies. He holds a Masters in Sociology from EHESS (Paris) and a Ph.D. in Modern History from the University of Paris IV (Sorbonne). He taught at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" [1992-2000] and conducted seminars at the Universities of Paris IV, Malta, and Paris I. His current research interests include military and naval history. Author of five published books and seventy research papers, he is a member of the Commission Française d'Histoire Militaire.
