[edit] Welcome

Hello, Fitch, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -Willmcw 21:40, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Name

Cool name! Family name? Check out Fitch Chris 05:18, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Indiana Jones

Thanks. Yeah, I hate it when I lose changes due to crashes. In my experience, Firefox was more stable than IE, but recently they seem nearly even in that regard. I tend to save my changes more often now and make big edits in a separate text editor (so if my browser dies, I've still got my text). --Mrwojo 19:32, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:The cw.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:The cw.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BRossow 14:49, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I've done the clean-up on Atmospheric reentry

Restructuring the definitions the way you did was a good idea. I've completed the clean-up and tried to resolve issues that you raised. Please check it and see if you can find any more problems. Egg plant 23:14, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RfD

On 07 February, you tagged the redirect Cheaper by the dozen cast for deletion, but you did not list it at Wikipedia:Redirects for deletion. I have added it to that page for discussion. You may wish to add a comment there if you still wish to see this redirect deleted. In the future, if you nominate a redirect for deletion, please list it. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions. -- JLaTondre 01:50, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rotten Tomatoes

Please join us in discussing a topic concerning a Rotten Tomatoes % in the Wikifilm infobox. Your opinions would be appreciated.

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Sci Fi Channel (United States) programs

Ello there, Fitch.. I'd rather like for you to give your input on the future of List of Sci Fi Channel (United States) programs since it may invariably suffer the same fate as Other films aired on The SciFi Channel, so please do so if time permits. I feel it a rather pertinant piece of information concerning the Sci Fi Channel, and its demise may compromise the article in its entirety. DrWho42 04:37, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] link to Rolls-Royce

Hello, when you want to link to the article about a Rolls-Royce, please do not link to Rolls-Royce, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as Rolls-Royce plc by writing out [[Rolls-Royce plc|Rolls-Royce]]. Regards, Jeff3000 06:30, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

In this edit you linked to the disambiguation page. -- Jeff3000 23:03, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletable Image:AA bird logo.svg

You are the uploader of this image. Unfortunately, it is a registered trademark, and as an SVG, it fails the low-resolution condition required for fair use, and thus has been flagged for speedy deletion. If you don't want it deleted, please let me know and I will put it through its due process. Thank you. -- Denelson83 23:01, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Marge_vs._the_Monorail_Lyles_notebook.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Marge_vs._the_Monorail_Lyles_notebook.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Iamunknown 04:37, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, put it back in the article. —Fitch 19:44, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Guster

I see that you've made edits in articles about Guster.
I'm trying to create a WikiProject to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to the band.
If you're interested, please express interest for WikiProject Guster on the proposal page. Thanks! - [hmwith]

[edit] External links

I liked your IMDb external link background-change script, so I went ahead and made more of them for MySpace, YouTube, and Wikipedia (more will probably come soon). They're located here if you want to try it. — Bob • (talk) • 20:56, July 25, 2007 (UTC)

Hey, pretty cool. Thanks so much for the credit! I always wondered if anyone used it or noticed it, but never got any feedback before! —Fitch 19:28, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Warner Independent Pictures.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Warner Independent Pictures.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bbedn (talk) 02:53, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Warner Independent Pictures.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Warner Independent Pictures.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:53, 18 November 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bbedn (talk) 02:53, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A potential chat session with Bill Oakley

We at the Simpsons WikiProject have managed to get into contact with the one and only Bill Oakley (who showran The Simpsons from season 7 to 8) and he has agreed to send us some images and to do an IRC chat in the future with us so that we can ask questions about things that we can use in articles. The transcript of this chat will hopefully be posted at NoHomers.net, which I think will be a good enough sorce. Failing that, we'll try The Simpsons Archive. Every member is more than welcome to take part, which will be held at our #wpsimpsons channel. Because not everyone will be able to make the chat, a page has been made where any member can post questions that can be asked. Remember, no fan questions, and due to a lack of time, try to limit it to ones that will help improve an article. That page is here. If you have any questions, ask myself, Xihix (who is the one in contact with him) or post it at WT:DOH, which is where any future updates will be posted. -- Scorpion0422 02:58, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Homer's Triple Bypass.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Homer's Triple Bypass.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
