[edit] Deleted material
I have removed the following entry from the article as it is uncited and dubious as it mentions the 2002 census which is incorrect as there was no census in 2002. The material is of little encyclopedic value really only trivia.
It has been estimated from the 2002 census, the combined age of people in Filey exceeds that of a medium city like Hull.
Filey is the largest export of fruit cakes in the European Union. The town exports 16000lbs of cake a year, which equals of the 1/8 the GDP of Botswana.
