[edit] Song Information
The song is about two friends of the band from Vancouver, British Columbia, who nearly died as a result of heroin addiction[citation needed]. The lyrics reflect the effects of drugs, and the tragedy of the speaker's life; "I left my best friends, or did they just leave me?" refers to the loss of the addict's friends as he became more and more addicted, and his continuous promises are outlined in the lyrical "Just one more hit, and I'll be fine. I swear to God this'll be my one last time!".

[edit] Music video
The music video for the single was released in Canada on November 27, 2006 and worldwide the following week. The video, directed by Dean Karr, begins with a rooster on an engine of a car with Billy Talent in it, the rooster on the engine of the car also Ian's guitars nickname, the "striped rooster". The band rides through several orange falling leaves and arrive at a dinner party full of monsters and goblins. One of the monsters ask the band to play and they obey, playing their song "Fallen Leaves" in front of the crowd. At one point, Billy Talent walks through a dark forest and finds a pool with a woman inside of it; the woman wakes up in the water and starts to panic. The video suggests the effects of the streets on these people "Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down". The monsters and goblins might symbolize the people who have been affected. Originally, the song was called "Falling Leaves", but due to the lyrics singing "Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground", they realized it made no sense and more recent copies of the album feature "Fallen Leaves", instead.
Directed by Dean Karr and Ian D'Sa.
