Fair Labor Association
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fair Labor Association is a non-profit organization designed to complement existing international and national labor laws. It was created in 1999 after President Bill Clinton recognized the need for supervision over the apparel industry regarding issues of human rights.[1]
[edit] Criticism
Some organizations, such as the United Students Against Sweatshops, believe that the FLA "...is a weak code that fails to provide for women's rights, a living wage, the full public disclosure of factory locations, or university control over the monitoring process."[2]
