Euscorpius is a genus of scorpions, commonly described as small wood scorpions. It contains eighteen species, of which the largest is the 5 cm Euscorpius italicus, and the smallest is the 1.5 cm Euscorpius germanus. The species range in colour from yellow-brown to dark brown. Many species are brown with yellow legs and sting. The most common scorpion is Skeged scorpion (Euscorpius tergestinus). It is widespread from north Africa in south to Czech republic,England and northern France in North and from Spain to Russia. Their poison is very weak, with effects similar to a mosquito bite.
