Erika was born in Inglewood, California.[citation needed] She has a diverse nationality, a mix of African American, Filipino, and Caucasian ancestry.[citation needed] Raised by her mother Laura Ringor, Erika’s acting interest began at an early age during her high school years.[1] She continued on to follow her passion in acting by attending California State University, Long Beach and graduated with honors receiving her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Drama and Technical Film. During her college years Erika earned principal roles in stage plays such as “Hair”, Shelley Garrett's play “Beauty Shop” and Ntozake Shange's “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf”.[1]

Erika first appeared in Love & Basketball, since that she has acted in many film and television production including R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet: Chapters 13-22, the Wendy Williams biography Queen of Media, in the television series Moonlight,[2] and recurring roles in Young and Restless[citation needed].
